Badgerland

A night with the Brookes badger family

UPDATE The badgers had at least two cubs this year, seen here with their mother, and have been busy preparing their sett with fresh, new bedding for the colder weather. Listen for the owl, another amazing resident on campus!

Get to know our badgers At the heart of the Headington Campus there is a badger sett. They are a protected species in the UK and we are very fortunate to have them live amongst us. Badgers are mostly shy and nocturnal, although some of you may be lucky enough to glimpse them on the way back to halls after a night out or hear them snuffling in the shrubbery.

We set up remote cameras so we can get to know our special neighbours.
